The Dominican Internship Program (DIP) coordinates 12 summer internship positions for Dominican students in Washington, D.C. This program, organized by the Dominican American National Roundtable and the Group of Dominican Professionals - Washington with the collaboration of the Dominican Studies Institute at CUNY, offers professional opportunities to Dominican college students in the nation’s capital.

• Internship placement in congressional offices, federal agencies, national or international organizations in Washington DC
• Housing with host families in Washington DC Metro area
• Instruction through the Dominican Studies Institute at CUNY
  (Academic Credits available)
• Partial stipend for local expenses

The Dominican Internship Program (DIP) requires to all interns 1) a professional behavior in the internship placement; 2) good manners with hosting families; 3) to attend weekly activities and educational instructions, 4) a final personal report of the experience.

To be considered for the Dominican Internship Program applicants should be attending college outside the Washington DC Area, be Dominican descendants, and provide by April 25th, 2003 the following items,

• Completed application form (www.danr.org/dip.htm)
• One page statement of interest in the program
• Statement of need to apply to scholarship
• Current College transcripts (may be unofficial)
• 3 Letters of recommendations (from a professor, a community leader or employer, and a fellow college student)
• One page résumé
• Proof of community service
